Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2026

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using CostMind (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms.

2. The Service

CostMind provides BigQuery cost attribution, anomaly detection, and optimization recommendations by reading job metadata from Google BigQuery’s INFORMATION_SCHEMA views. We do not access, read, or store the contents of your BigQuery tables.

3. Your responsibilities

  • You may only connect GCP projects for which you have authorization from the project owner.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must not use the Service to circumvent billing controls or violate Google Cloud’s terms of service.
  • You must not reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the Service.

4. Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans are billed monthly or annually in advance through Stripe. Prices are as listed on the pricing page at the time of subscription.

Free trial. New accounts receive a 14-day free trial. No credit card is required to start a trial. At the end of the trial, the account is downgraded to read-only unless a paid plan is activated.

Cancellation. You may cancel at any time. Monthly plans remain active until the end of the current billing period. Annual plans are refunded on a pro-rata basis within 30 days of cancellation.

Overages. If your job volume exceeds your plan limit, overage charges of $0.10 per 10,000 additional jobs apply. We will notify you before you exceed your limit.

5. Availability and SLA

We target 99.5% uptime for paid plans. Enterprise plans include a 99.9% SLA with remedies as described in the Enterprise agreement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access and are not liable for downtime caused by third-party services (Google Cloud, Railway, Stripe).

6. Data and intellectual property

You retain ownership of all data you connect to CostMind. We claim no intellectual property rights over your BigQuery metadata or the reports generated from it.

CostMind retains ownership of the Service, its algorithms, recommendation engine, and all software. Nothing in these terms grants you a license to the underlying technology beyond the right to use the Service as described.

7. Limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is”. Cost recommendations are estimates based on historical metadata and may not reflect actual savings. CostMind is not liable for decisions made based on recommendations, for any indirect or consequential damages, or for any amount exceeding the fees paid in the 3 months prior to the claim.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in abuse, or fail to pay. We will provide reasonable notice except in cases of serious violations. Upon termination, your data is retained for 30 days then deleted.

9. Changes to these terms

We will notify you by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
